Specializing
in local government law, land development law, litigation and general
business law, the firm has the combined total of eighty years of
experience among its attorneys, including particular expertise in the

counsel to special districts, home rule, statutory, and territorial
towns and cities, and county sheriffs.

of land use matters as defense counsel to municipalities, as
plaintiff's counsel in the well-known Margolis and Eggert
cases, and have represented municipal clients in several land use,
governmental immunity and condemnation cases of first impression,
including Grynberg v. City of Northglenn, Town of Parker v.
Colorado Division of Parks, and Town of Parker v. Norton.

of local governments, including law enforcement officials, against
civil rights suits brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.

law, including defense of wrongful discharge cases, public employee
collective bargaining, the Fair Labor Standards Act and other types of
federal regulation, and development of policies, procedures, contracts
and ordinances that help the public employer avoid liability.

law, including representation of both petitioners and municipalities
for initiative, referendum and recall special elections.

Construction
contract drafting and construction claims litigation.

Drafting
legislation, lobbying and testifying before legislative committees.

One implementation and litigation, including litigation of Stecher
v. Northglenn and Cerveny v. Wheat Ridge.

domain actions, including acting as special counsel for the Denver
Water Department.
